"Now that I'm in the program, I feel that I'm back on track... I also get a chance to go to school and get some money at the same time. I don't have to worry about getting to work after I have been to school all day. I get both in the same place. The environment stays the same. I am allowed the chance to have a regular stable environment."

HUD Regulations for the $1.5 billion for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)

Dear Members,

In collaboration with the National Alliance to End Homelessness, we at the National Network for Youth are happy to share with you this Toolkit on the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations for the $1.5 billion from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP).  On Thursday, March 19th, HUD issued their guidance for the $1.5 billion for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP). We hope the attached guide can be shared widely and will assist you in efforts to gain more resources for youth. The HUD guidelines seem to offer wide latitude for localities in their distribution of funding. The principal purpose of the Toolkit is to advance the role of youth and the resources for youth in considerations of the distribution of the HPRP funds.

Please feel free to contact us at the Public Policy Unit if you have further questions at 202-783-7949 x3109.
