The Prevention Plus Project (P3) - Preventing HIV/STI Among Runaway and Homeless Youth
NN4Y’s five year HIV prevention partnership with the CDC, the Prevention Plus Project (P3) addresses the disparities in HIV outcomes for runaway and homeless youth by strengthening the HIV prevention capacity of RHY organizations, state and local education agencies, state and local homeless education coordinators, and other youth-serving organizations through information dissemination, training and professional development, and technical assistance.
P3's goals are to:
- increase the capacity of RHY organizations to provide effective HIV prevention services for youth served by their programs;
- to increase the capacity of other youth-serving organizations to provide effective HIV prevention for RHY they serve;
- to improve the health disparities among RHY by working cooperatively with CDC/DASH;
- and, to conduct evaluation to gain insight, change practices, and assess the effects of the program activities.
