Actor Adrien Brody and Other Hollywood Stars Help Homeless Youth Through Art

Nearly 10,000 young people in Los Angeles have no bed to sleep in and have no role models.

The Not-For-Profit Hollywood Arts is providing programs to help at-risk youth exercise their social skills, discipline, creative thinking and other necessary tools through the study of music, writing, acting, and design.

In support of Hollywood Arts, the Hollywood community, including Academy Award winner Adrien Brody and Emmy Nominee Alan Cumming, recorded a Public Service Announcement that emphasizes education and empowerment through the arts.

"My mentor taught me that I was good enough... that I am the most interesting thing about myself," says Cumming. Glee Actor Greg Finley and Monica Raymund credit acting for their success as an artist and as a person. Glee's Patrick Gallagher focuses on the hope that art programs create, while Weed's Guillermo Diaz is impressed with internship programs.

Saturday Night Live's Jason Sudeikis and Judah Friedlander have always been great supporters of art education and stand behind Hollywood Art's mission to build self esteem through art.

Having the support of Hollywood means a lot to non-profit organizations like Hollywood Arts. Executive Director Rachel Romanski is grateful to the many artists who lent their voice to the PSA and act as mentors to LA's youth. "Our organization is committed to providing educational and mentoring opportunities for homeless and former foster youth. Having the support of so many wonderful artists makes a significant difference."

E! News correspondent Michael Yo will host the 3rd Annual Dream Award on November 13th, 2010, at the Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles honoring producers Anthony Rhulen and John Ryan, Jr. of FilmEngine and Dr. Howard C. Samuels of The Hills Treatment Center. The evening's ceremonies include musical performances by Grammy-Award winning guitarist Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine and surprise celebrity attendees.

Hollywood Arts is a groundbreaking organization dedicated to educating and empowering homeless and at-risk young adults, many of whom are former foster youth. Utilizing arts-based curriculum, Hollywood Arts helps young people improve self-esteem, develop thinking skills, master educational concepts and
receive job-readiness training.
