youth member quote

"Now that I'm in the program, I feel that I'm back on track... I also get a chance to go to school and get some money at the same time. I don't have to worry about getting to work after I have been to school all day. I get both in the same place. The environment stays the same. I am allowed the chance to have a regular stable environment."

National Network for Youth Membership Benefits
The National Network for Youth is the nation’s leading organization engaging in federal policy advocacy for the needs of homeless and disconnected youth. The legislation we work to move forward is meant to provide our members (you!) with resources to better serve the needs of your constituents.
Our advocacy work centers on legislation that enforces the following:
- Valuing and Empowering Youth
- Promoting and Strengthening Healthy Families
- Providing Safety and Healing for All Youth
- Cultivating Diversity
- Increasing Resources for Community-Based Services
- Cultivating Healthy Youth Development
As National Network members, you will join us on the Hill at the national and state level, in educating and guiding members of Congress, their staff, and administration officials, about issues surrounding homeless youth. Together, we will also serve as powerful advocates in Washington D.C. by protecting key legislation and spending affecting youth.
Policy Advocacy
Our staff and members guide Congress and federal agency staff on issues that directly impact the well being of unaccompanied youth in America by testifying at congressional hearings, working closely with legislators and their staff, public speaking, writing articles and letters, and generally engaging our communities on the issues and policies that matter for this under-served population.
As National Network members, you will join us on Capitol Hill to educate and guide members of Congress, their staff, and administration officials about issues surrounding homeless youth. Young people serving as spokespeople are the only way to be effective in our policy efforts. As members, you and your young constituents will be asked to join us in our federal policy advocacy. Together, we serve as powerful advocates in Washington D.C. by protecting key legislation and spending affecting homeless and unaccompanied youth.
Policy Alerts
Members receive eblasts that direct them to the member only webpage for bulletins with the latest updates on homeless youth public policy information. Alerts include opportunities to reach out to congressional leaders on important issues and legislation through an online system. Stay informed, spread the word, and get involved through our Policy Alerts.
Council on Accreditation
The National Network is a sponsoring organization of the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children (COA, an independent accreditor of community-based behavioral health care and social service programs in the United States and Canada.) Accreditation provides assurance to funding bodies, governmental agencies, clients and the public that an organization meets exacting standards (a seal of approval!). Many state agencies and funding organizations are now requiring national accreditation. National Network members have the opportunity to strengthen their organizations and improve services by becoming accredited at a discounted rate of 25%. This discount could be equal to two or three year’s worth of NNY dues.
Discounted MANY Webinars
The National Network has an agreement with MANY where as a NN4Y member you will receive the same discounted webinar rate that MANY members receive, the "NN4Y Affiliate Rate." Check out their upcoming webinars HERE !
