I have hope for my future. I know where I want to go, and an idea of how to get there. I know that the key elements are education and a job. No one can make it alone.
-- Former homeless youth in member program
Kreig Pinkham

Kreig Pinkham is the Director of the Vermont Coalition of Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs (VCRHYP) – a statewide network of 13 agencies providing RHY services throughout the state of Vermont. He came to youth work through a convoluted path that included a Master’s Degree in comparative religion, four months in India studying Hindu Temple architecture and culture; the writing of an as-yet unpublished novel, several years teaching multiple subjects as a High School teacher, and finally working with a 21st Century Learning Community grant in Central Vermont, before accepting his current position.

Kreig served two terms as the New England states representative to the National Council on Youth Policy before assuming the position of NCYP Chair. Kreig also serves as the Chair of Vermont’s State Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice, and directs the planning efforts of the Vermont Working with Youth Conference – an annual event attracting over 300 youth work professionals designed to honor and promote the field of youth work in its manifold guises.

Kreig lives with his wife in a farmhouse built in the 1830s that has been in his family for three generations and affords an unspoiled view of the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. When he’s not working, Kreig is an avid trail runner and ice climber who is also at peace with his vast collection of over 300 strategy board games from around the world.
