Bob has been directly involved in work with runaway and homeless youth since 1973 and was a member of the group of youth workers who organized the National Network during a weeklong retreat in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Bob was the founding director of the Lighthouse Youth Crisis Center in 1976 and was promoted to be Executive Director in 1978 and then to his present position as President and CEO of Lighthouse Youth Services in 2005. Lighthouse provides residential care each day for more than 250 children in our foster homes, group homes, residential treatment centers, supervised apartments, and other residential programs and they are a national leader in work with youth. Staff members have authored nationally published books and articles, frequently present at national conferences, consult with states and agencies nationwide, and begin operating a training institute this past year. Lighthouse is certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse services, licensed by the Ohio Department of Human Services, accreditation for Services to Children and Families, and receives funding, in part, from the United Way and the City of Cincinnati. Lighthouse has been an active member of the Network for over 30 years. In addition to being a founder, Bob served on the Board of the Network from 1993 to 1998 and 2006 to present. He is a recipient of the Donna Vallee Award.
